About Us

At the last minute, I jumped in on the culinary retreat as an opportunity to work on the final sections of my memoir.  Being a busy mom and business owner, I was desperately seeking the time and space to write without interruption. Shelly was gracious enough to customize my experience so that I had ample time to write AND could take advantage of some of the delicious culinary events she planned.

The setting was stunning - a gorgeous house right on the water with a room that overlooked the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing on the rocks below was the only background music I needed.  A rooftop deck provided a place I could wander upstairs to when looking for conversation, encouragement from the other guests, or simply a different setting to write.   

Shelly paid great attention to detail and saw what each of us on the retreat needed the journey to be.  And she delivered.  The food we tasted was authentic and made with love by the people of the island. The setting in which to write and be creative was both beautiful and inspiring.  I finished the chapters that needed to be written.  

I made new friends and connections with the other guests, and returned home feeling accomplished, rested and recharged.  It was the best "last minute" trip decision I could have made.
